The strategic plan of Al-Taff University College for 2026–2030.
Preparation Committee: Based on the authorities granted to us and with reference to Circular No. (D/4/387) dated 15/4/2025, it was decided to form the Strategic Plan Writing Committee for Al-Taff University College for the period 2026–2030, consisting of the following members: Asst. Prof. Rawad Mousa Hussein – Member Lecturer Kazem Sameer Abbas – Member Lecturer Asim Adel Mohsen – Member Lecturer Ru’a Abdul Abbas Kareem – Member Ms. Noor Ghalib Abbas – Member ________________________________________ Establishment of the College: Al-Taff University College was established and opened its doors for admission in the academic year (2014–2015) in the holy governorate of Karbala. It is a private college officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research according to Ministerial Order No. (T.H / 628) dated (20/2/2014). ________________________________________ College Mission: Believing that knowledge is a defining characteristic of thriving nations, and that progress elevates a nation’s status among others, nations are in continuous competition striving for excellence in all fields. From this perspective, Al-Taff College has adopted a mission centered on serving knowledge and scholars, and building generations capable of contributing to themselves, their families, society, their (homeland), and humanity as a whole. The first step was the establishment of three departments: Arabic Language Department: the language of nations and the language of the Holy Qur’an. Admission is currently suspended. Computer Engineering Technologies Department: essential for all modern fields of life. Business Administration Department: vital for managing institutions and projects effectively. Later developments: 2017–2018: Islamic Education and Quranic Sciences Department 2019–2020: Anesthesia Technologies Department 2021–2022: Law Department 2023–2024: Medical Physics Department 2024–2025: Clinical Nutrition Department Physical Education and Sports Sciences Department ________________________________________ General Objectives of the College: Build an organizational structure of administrative and teaching staff. Expand the institution by opening new departments and facilities. Enhance the college’s reputation locally and internationally. Prepare graduates with skills aligned with labor market needs. Promote academic culture and scientific research. Revive Arab-Islamic civilization and preserve heritage. Strengthen academic and research partnerships. Attract international academic expertise. ________________________________________ Organizational Structure (Section title only) ________________________________________ Committee Statement: Drafting a strategic plan is a complex process requiring high-level expertise and coordinated efforts across all college units over a five-year period. The strategic plan enhances education quality and aligns outputs with labor market needs. It was prepared using a rigorous scientific approach under the supervision of the Dean, Prof. Dr. Kareem Muzal Shubay. The committee carried out: Providing mechanisms to implement the plan. Conducting surveys to define strategic goals. Performing SWOT analysis. Al-Taf University College is holding a panel discussion on combating negative phenomena in society.
Al-Taf University College, in cooperation with the Karbala Center for Studies and Research affiliated with the Holy Al-Husseiniya Shrine and the Karbala Provincial Police Command, held a panel discussion entitled: “Combating Negative Phenomena Intruding on Society” The event took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in the college hall, with the attendance of a distinguished group of academics, officials, and community figures. The seminar was attended by the Assistant Director of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Natheer Al-Hindawi, the Center’s Advisor, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Karbalaei, and the Dean of Al-Taf University College, Professor Dr. Karim Mazal Shabi, along with a number of official and academic personalities. The session featured scientific lectures delivered by: * Brigadier General Dr. Ihsan Al-Asadi, Director of the Department of Relations and Media at the Karbala Provincial Police Command * Lieutenant Colonel Hisham Al-Hajjami, Assistant Director of the Community Policing Department * Dr. Haider Abdul Ridha Al-Dhalimi, Head of the Law Department at the college * Mr. Alaa Al-Karkoushi, Head of the Rumors Division in the Media Department of the Police Command The speakers addressed the أبرز challenges related to negative phenomena infiltrating society and discussed ways to address them through enhancing community awareness and activating the role of academic and security institutions in confronting them. Participants emphasized the importance of integrating efforts among relevant الجهات and working to reinforce positive values and sound behaviors within society. At the conclusion of the seminar, a set of recommendations and proposals were issued, aimed at reducing negative phenomena and promoting social stability.
Al-Taf University College Holds the Seventh Scientific Conference on Comparative Studies
Conference on Comparative Studies, in collaboration with the Al-Jinan Cultural Centre for Linguistic and Comparative Critical Studies, under the theme: “Linguistic and Literary Diversity in the Light of Comparative Studies.” The conference explores the role of comparative studies in linguistics, literature, and criticism, as well as their intersections with law, educational sciences, economics and accounting, and medical and engineering sciences, highlighting the expanding scope of this field in bridging disciplines. This event reflects the College’s commitment to promoting rigorous research and academic dialogue. The conference outcomes will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Al-Taf University College for Human Sciences, ensuring wider dissemination of its scholarly contributions.
Publication of the Fourth Issue of the Peer-Reviewed Journal of Al-Taf University College for the Humanities
The fourth issue of the Journal of Al-Taf University College for Human Sciences, a peer-reviewed academic periodical, has been published, marking a significant continuation of the College’s established academic trajectory in fostering a culture of scholarly research and reinforcing the standing of university publishing as a fundamental pillar in the construction of knowledge and the advancement of rigorous academic activity. The journal is regarded as an accredited peer-reviewed scholarly outlet for the purposes of academic promotion and various research activities, by virtue of the rigorous refereeing principles upon which it is founded and the well-established academic standards it adopts in the evaluation and selection of submitted manuscripts. Such practices ensure methodological soundness, intellectual rigour, and the originality of research outcomes. This issue comprises a collection of scholarly contributions whose topics span a number of disciplinary fields, including law, journalism and media, educational sciences, and economics. This diversity reflects the journal’s broad intellectual horizon, its engagement with contemporary issues in the field of human sciences, and its capacity to accommodate serious scholarly efforts across multiple specialisations. Today, the Al-Taf University College/Department of Law organized an awareness seminar entitled "Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances."
Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Taf University College, Professor Dr. Karim Muzal Al-Saadi, the Al-Taf University College/Department of Law organized an awareness seminar titled "Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances" today, October 6, 2025, in the college's conference hall. The seminar was held in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. The seminar aimed to raise awareness among students about the health, social, and legal risks of drug abuse and to emphasize the important role of youth in combating this phenomenon, which threatens the future of generations. During the seminar, representatives from the Directorate gave a comprehensive awareness presentation, including an explanation of the types of drugs and methods of prevention, in addition to clarifying the legal penalties for their trafficking or use. At the conclusion of the seminar, the Dean's representative expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Directorate of Combating Drugs for its cooperation and awareness-raising efforts. He praised the role of the Law Department in organizing such events, which contribute to enhancing legal and societal awareness among students.
